Did
you know? Of all the people that will see your house, For this reason, it is very important choosing the right brick for your home or project. If the right selection is made, it can enhance the look and increase the price, if and when it comes time to sell. We all know what it is like when we are driving down streets and we see "that" house that stands out from the crowd. The chances are, it is probably a Namoi Valley Bricks brick! Namoi Valley Bricks Pty Ltd make dry press (solid) bricks. We supply a brick with unique earthy colours, obtained from natural clays and shale in the North West of NSW, that stands out from that "mass produced" look. Most of our bricks are double-sided, which means if there is an imperfection on one side of the brick, you can turn it over and use the other side. You don't have that luxury with most extruded bricks (bricks with holes) - if the face is damaged, you will have to throw the brick away. This means extra expense, as you would need to order more extruded bricks. Double-sided bricks are also an advantage when building a full brick home, as most internal walls use single skin brickwork, therefore requiring a brick with a good face on both sides. Another feature of our bricks are that they have been tested for exposure grade and salt resistance and passed with flying colours. This means that our bricks will be able to handle most conditions easily. Cold climates or high salt areas are two places where a Namoi Valley brick can be used. There are many bricks on the market today that are not suitable for these applications. Extreme care must be taken when choosing a brick if you are building in these areas. You can refer to our scientific tests for the results or contact the Clay Brick & Paving Institute in your state for more information. Take the time to look through the different colours and types of bricks that we offer. As well as offering bricks that "stand out" in the crowd, you can be rest assured that a Namoi Valley brick is one of the highest quality bricks produced in the market today. Brick Information
When estimating quantities for brickwork, work out the area of the wall to be bricked and multiply the area by 53 (for large jobs) or 55 (for small jobs). This will give you an approximate quantity of bricks for a single skin wall. For double skin brickwork, multiply the total by 2. For more information about our bricks and pavers, click here |
